The Annual Membership Meeting offers ESSAE members, colleagues, and industry partners around the state the opportunity to install the 2023 Board of Directors, highlight the Society's accomplishments, and hear more about future initiatives, including new elements planned for the 2024 Annual Conference & Trade Show!  
 
This year’s Annual Membership Meeting will be digital and broadcast at 1:00PM on Wednesday, February 7, 2024!

•    2024 Board of Directors

This is the official announcement of nominees for the ESSAE Board of Director positions for 2024, as proposed by the ESSAE Nominating Committee.

The Nominating Committee, currently comprised of Jeremy Johannesen (chair), Donna Denley, Todd Garofano, Kim Keenan and Lindsay Miller, selected board candidates which it felt would assist in strengthening the association’s mission by ensuring that important board decisions regarding the association would be handled with the exercise of sound and objective judgment; maintaining a high level of commitment to the association; attending and participating in board meetings and association functions on a regular basis; consistently keeping abreast of association issues and board materials; and possessing leadership qualities and capabilities, in order to reflect a positive profile for the Society.

The Committee unanimously recommends the following directors for re-election to the 2024 Board of Directors:

  • Tim Atkinson, Executive Director, NYS Veterinary Medical Society;
  • Meagan Bowker, CAE, Section Head & Senior Association Manager, Capitol Hill Management Services;
  • Adam Jacobson, Director of Sales, Villa Roma Resort & Conference Center;
  • Kelly McMahon, CEO, NYS Network for Youth Services;
  • Chris Neuber, President, Eastern New York Coalition of Automotive Retailers;
  • Katie Phelps, Sales Manager, Radisson Hotel Corning;
  • Gina Potfora, CMP, Vice President of Member Services, ACEC New York;
  • Jeanine Santelli, PhD, RN, Executive Director, American Nurses Association—New York; and
  • Donna Stelling-Gurnett, President/CEO, Association of Private Colleges

The Committee unanimously recommends the following new candidates to the slate of directors for 2024:

  • Kristen Phillips, CAE, MPA, Director of Trustee Education & Community Health Policy, HANYS; and
  • Kyle Stewart, Executive Director, Alliance of New York State YMCAs

The Board of Directors elects the following as its Officers for 2024:

  • Chair: Ashley Ranslow, NY State Director, National Federation of Independent Business
  • Vice Chair: Adelynne Waldie, CMP, Events Manager, New York School Nutrition Association
  • Secretary: Amanda Grace Wing, Deputy Executive Director, ASBO New York
  • Treasurer: Megan Osika, Vice President, Park Strategies, LLC
  • Immediate Past Chair: George Swain, Ed.M., CAE, Chief Operating Officer, NYS Association of Independent Schools

An election will take place during the February 7, 2024 Virtual Annual Meeting at 1:00PM EST. Additional nominations may be made from the floor at any election, in accordance with the bylaws of this association. Officers will be installed following the election of directors.

 Annual Awards Luncheon
Our 2023 award winners will be celebrated as a separate in-person event!

The Annual Awards Luncheon will be held in conjunction with the Meetings, Membership, and Marketing Institute (TripleM) on March 21, 2024 at the Albany Marriott, Wolf Road, Albany, NY.
