Equinox is a human services agency with deep roots in the Capital Region dating back to 1947. Equinox provides services to more than 5,000 youth and adults–and their families–impacted by domestic violence, substance use and addiction, mental health disorders, homelessness, and the challenges of living amid poverty and violence. Nearly 170 dedicated staff provide compassionate care, life-changing opportunities, and peace of mind at 10 locations throughout our community.  In addition, Equinox has partnered with the community for more than half a century to provide nutritious meals to our Capital Region neighbors in need through its Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner—over the years, serving anywhere between 1,000 to 11,000 meals and fellowship.

ESSAE will be managing its silent auction through an online bidding site -BiddingOwl! Through this easy-to-use and secure interface, you will be able to bid on Silent Auction items donated by our generous partners! To prepare for this online auction, there are a few things you need to know!

For this year's silent auction, donations will be displayed digitally, both via our online BiddingOwl platform and on a large screen during the Holiday Celebration.   In preparation for this year's silent auction, we hope you will consider donating an item for the auction.  

If you have participated in ESSAE online auctions through Bidding Owl before, please double check your registration information.  The platform was recently upgraded and data transferred over.  If you have not participated before you will need to register as a bidder. The system will prompt you to either login or register before you can place a bid.

What can you donate? It's about the experience! Experiential items create memories and journeys for attendees. Memorable and unique auction items might include: weekend getaways and airline tickets, spa days, brewery tours, area attractions, museum and city tours, hot air balloon rides, theme park tickets, golf or ski outings, concert tickets and backstage passes, complimentary dining experiences, sporting events, and so much more!

This is your chance to be creative! The holiday auction affords you the perfect opportunity to showcase your brand, services, venue, and destination! We hope you will consider taking part in this special holiday experience that helps us support our association professionals. New this year, all guests attending the Holiday Celebration, including those who might not be active bidders, will see your submitted image during the event on a large screen.  When submitting your image, this is your opportunity to make the image a mini billboard / advertisement!

Register Now Holiday Celebration on Dec 14

Through your generosity, ESSAE has been able to make a huge impact on the local community throughout the years, bringing ESSAE’s total donated dollars, since 1993 to over $186,000.

As we countdown to the end of 2023, we look forward to the holiday season, a time to give back and celebrate with friends, colleagues and peers! ESSAE will be raising funds through an online bidding site. A portion of the silent auction proceeds will benefit a charitable organization to be determined. Their mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools that help them thrive in work and in life.


 

How to Bid! 

We will once again be using Bidding Owl for this year's Silent Auction. Holiday Celebration participants will be able to see and bid digitally, but not touch, the auction items on display at this year's event. All bidding will be done via your SmartPhone! Once the auction concludes, winning bidders will be able to pick up their prize at the event. Bidding will also be open to anyone who is not in attendance!

If you have participated in Online Auctions through Bidding Owl before, you don't need to do anything except bid on items! If you have not participated before you will need to register as a bidder.

ONLINE SILENT AUCTION and LIVE EVENT at ALBANY HILTON

  • Starting at noon, browse items online and start bidding!
  • New this year - items will be displayed digitally at the Holiday Celebration, there will not be table of items.  All items will be visible online and on a large screen at the Albany Hilton, courtesy of CMIAV.    
  • Bidding will end at 7:15 PM on Thursday, December 14.
  • Please bid based on the minimum increments as posted for each item.
  • Winners will be notified during the Holiday Celebration and via email through the Bidding Owl site.

For Live Event & Virtual Bidders:

  • New this year - items will be shipped directly to your from the donor upon payment in full.
  • Items not paid for by Thursday, December 28 will be awarded to the next highest bidder.
